Valet (Solaris)

What it is

The epic-rarity Solaris four-slot hull — a mid-tier flagship-style chassis with four weapon mounts and the line starting weapon. Pairs Solaris armor 5 with above-baseline acceleration (210) at the faction’s standard ★1 stat anchor (HP 180, shield 150, speed 135). Unlike the Armada (also four-slot but heat-disabled), the Valet keeps a live heat curve (14 buildup, 48 cooldown), so the overheat-boost loop is fully active. Ship scale is 1.0, smaller than the heavy Solaris hulls. Drag profile is back-loaded — typical Solaris drive feel.

All other ★5 fields match ★1 — only the four endpoints above shift across stars. No per-hull ★2/★3/★4 overrides exist for the Valet, so intermediate stars are a clean linear lerp between ★1 and ★5 on all four deltas. Everything else (armor 5, speed 135, drag 0.42, turn rate 0.10, weapon slots 4, ship scale 1.0, heat curve, drive feel, faction, rarity, hitbox, starting weapon) is constant across all five stars.

Free-rotating ship with a linear thrust ramp and a back-loaded brake — coast feels light at speed, then settles hard near zero. The back-loaded drag profile is the Solaris faction signature: deceleration is weighted toward the final stop rather than spread evenly across the velocity range, so the Valet glides at cruise speed and then snaps to a halt. Heat curve is active (14 buildup / 48 cooldown, linear), so the overheat-boost loop is engaged in the standard way — heat builds while firing, dissipates while idle, and feeds the speed-target boost.

Hitbox

Custom convex polygon (no octagon fallback). Normalized to the sprite content box on a ±0.95 scale; physics applies it at the rendered sprite size.

The polygon is a long, asymmetric slab: full ±0.95 width and ±0.613 height (height/width ratio ≈ 0.65). The left/tail end fills the full vertical extent through a chamfered rectangular bulk (corners cut at ±0.95×±0.264, then a steep ramp to ±0.669×±0.568, then a flat top/bottom edge at y = ±0.613 from x = -0.523 to x = -0.197). The right/nose end tapers sharply: a long mid-section at y = ±0.59 narrows into a chamfered point that pinches in to ±0.129 at the tip (x = 0.95). Visual silhouette is a wide rear hull with an extended forward prow.

EXTRACT-CANDIDATE

  • Solaris faction signature stat block. Solaris hulls share a tight set of fixed values: armor 5, drag 0.42, turn rate 0.10, drag curve back_loaded, weapon damage % landing at 12.5 at ★5. Across the Solaris roster the ★1→★5 delta pattern is also consistent — only HP / Shield / WeaponDamagePct / Acceleration shift. Worth a single canonical “Solaris faction profile” block on ships.md so per-entity Solaris pages can stop repeating these constants.
  • Heat-active four-slot Solaris hull. Solaris_Valet is the four-weapon-slot Solaris hull that keeps a live heat curve (14 buildup / 48 cooldown), in contrast to the legendary Armada which has the same slot count but heat disabled. Worth flagging on ships.md or weapons.md as a design distinction: the cheaper epic hull pays for its four slots with active heat management; the legendary opts out of the heat loop entirely.
  • Line as four-slot Solaris starter. The line weapon is Solaris_Valet’s starting weapon. A “starting weapon by hull” cross-reference table on ships.md or on the line entry in weapons.md would surface this faction/slot-count signal.
  • Hitbox aspect ratio. Valet’s hitbox height/width ratio (≈0.65) sits between the flattest Solaris hulls (Armada ≈0.55) and squarer designs. A hitbox-aspect-ratio table on ships.md or hull-hitboxes.md would surface gameplay-relevant collision shape differences that are currently buried in raw vertex lists.
  • Epic hull with baseline passive. Solaris_Valet inherits jack_of_all rather than a hull-specific passive. Could be intentional or a missing-passive gap — worth flagging on ships.md or passives.md so the wiki captures the design intent for epic-rarity hulls.
