Princess (Solaris)

What it is

A legendary-rarity Solaris hull — a four-weapon-slot mid-sized cruiser that opens with the barrier starting weapon (the same defensive utility opener as the Armada flagship). Of the three Solaris legendaries it sits in the middle on hull silhouette (ship scale 1.15, between Oracle’s 1.0 and Armada’s 1.2) and runs the Solaris drive signature: armor 5, drag 0.42, turn rate 0.10, back-loaded drag curve. Carries the lowest ★1 acceleration of any Solaris legendary (190) and the only Solaris hitbox where the polygon is taller than it is wide.

All other ★5 fields match ★1 (the per-hull ★5 override only delta-pins the four numerics above). No ★2 / ★3 / ★4 pins exist for Princess, so intermediate stars lerp linearly between the four endpoints; every other stat is constant across all five stars.

Free-rotating cruiser with a linear thrust ramp and a back-loaded brake — when thrust is released the deceleration starts gentle and weights toward the final stop, so the Princess glides at cruise speed and then snaps to a halt. The back-loaded drag profile is the Solaris faction signature. Heat curve is active: thrust raises heat at 14/sec, cooldown drains at 48/sec while idle, and the linear curve maps heat to speed-boost gain. Burnout severity 0.35 applies when the bar saturates. With the lowest acceleration among Solaris legendaries (190 vs Oracle’s 320 and Armada’s 240) but the longest heat-cool window of any Solaris hull (48), the Princess is the slowest off the line of the three but recovers boost the fastest.

Hitbox

Custom convex polygon (no octagon fallback). Normalized to the sprite content box on a ±0.95 scale; physics applies it at the rendered sprite size.

The polygon is the tallest in the Solaris hitbox table — Y range ±0.804 versus the X range ±0.950, the only Solaris hull where Y reaches above ±0.6. The tail end (left side) is a tall, near-vertical face from roughly y=±0.804 down through a slight inward chamfer at the rear corners; the nose end (right side) tapers through a long curve to a narrow ±0.141 point. The hull is broader on the vertical axis than every other Solaris entry — the silhouette is roughly square in normalized space rather than the lengthwise slab the other Solaris hulls present.

The default baseline passive (no per-hull override). Applies a percent buff to all stats at run start, scaling with passive rank. Princess is a legendary hull but inherits the same generic baseline passive that common-tier hulls receive — no hull-specific passive ID is assigned. Third Solaris legendary in a row to inherit the baseline (after Armada and Oracle).

Princess has no per-hull ★2 / ★3 / ★4 pin entries, so the lerp runs straight from ★1 to ★5 with no breakpoints. Star tier never changes the starting weapon (always barrier L1), faction, rarity, hitbox, drive feel, ship scale, weapon-slot count, armor, speed, drag, turn rate, or heat curve — only the four lerped numerics above and the mod backpack grid size.

EXTRACT-CANDIDATE flags

  • Solaris legendary heat-curve correction. Solaris_Princess actually runs heatBuildup 14 / heatCooldown 48 (active linear curve), not the 0/0 quoted in earlier wiki notes on Armada and Oracle. Of the three Solaris legendaries, Armada is the only 0/0 hull — Oracle and Princess both have the active 14/48 loop. The Oracle page already flagged this as a re-verify; with Princess confirmed at 14/48, the Solaris heat-curve map on ships.md should split the legendary tier as {Armada: 0/0, Oracle: 14/48, Princess: 14/48} and treat 14/48 as the more common Solaris-legendary default.
  • Solaris faction signature stat block. Solaris hulls share a tight set of fixed values: armor 5, drag 0.42, turn rate 0.10, drag curve back_loaded, weaponDamagePct ★5 endpoint 12.5. The ★1→★5 delta pattern is also consistent — only HP / Shield / WeaponDamagePct / Acceleration shift across the faction. Princess is the third Solaris legendary that confirms this profile. Worth a single canonical “Solaris faction profile” block on ships.md so per-entity Solaris pages can stop repeating these constants.
  • Legendary hull with baseline passive. Solaris_Princess is the third Solaris legendary inheriting jack_of_all rather than a hull-specific passive (after Armada and Oracle). All three legendaries in the Solaris faction fall back to the generic baseline passive — no Solaris legendary has its own assigned passive ID. Strong signal that the design intent is “legendary tier gets rank-driven generic buff, not unique identity passive” for Solaris specifically. Worth an explicit note on passives.md and ships.md.
  • Barrier as a shared legendary starter. Princess opens with barrier, the same starting weapon as Armada. The barrier starter is now confirmed on two of the three Solaris legendaries (Oracle opens with disc). On the “starting weapon by hull” cross-reference table flagged on Armada/Oracle, barrier deserves its own row showing which hulls open with it. Currently the Princess and Armada share the only two barrier-starter slots across the entire roster.
  • Hitbox aspect ratio outlier. Princess’s hitbox is the only Solaris hull where Y range reaches above ±0.6 (here ±0.804). All other Solaris hulls are lengthwise slabs (Y range ≤ ±0.6); Princess is near-square in normalized space. The hitbox-aspect-ratio table flagged on Armada/Oracle should call this out — Princess sits at a different point on the silhouette spectrum than the rest of the faction.
  • Acceleration outlier (low end). Princess’s ★1 acceleration of 190 is the lowest among Solaris legendaries (Armada 240, Oracle 320), and it is also below several non-legendary Solaris hulls (Cruiser 271, Flyer 301, Oracle’s family). The legendary tier within Solaris is not consistently the faction’s fastest — the spread is wider than the HP/shield spread. Worth a per-faction “acceleration by rarity” table on ships.md.
  • ★1 HP highest in Solaris legendary tier. Princess ships with ★1 HP 230, more than Armada and Oracle (both 220), and is the only Solaris hull with a 230 ★1 HP value. The ★5 HP endpoint is also the highest (288 vs Armada/Oracle 275). Worth a cross-tier comparison row in the Solaris faction profile.
  • Heat-cool 48 is the Solaris ceiling. Princess’s heat cooldown 48 is the highest in the Solaris roster, tied with Oracle. Combined with the standard 14/sec buildup, the Princess gets the longest active runtime on a single heat-bar discharge before forced burnout — a balance signal worth surfacing on ships.md and possibly physics.md (heat mechanics).
