Oracle (Solaris)

What it is

A legendary-rarity Solaris hull — a four-weapon-slot mid-sized cruiser that opens with the disc starting weapon and runs the Solaris faction’s signature drive feel (back-loaded drag, armor 5, drag coefficient 0.42, turn rate 0.10). Unlike its sibling Solaris legendaries (Armada, Princess) the Oracle ships with an active heat curve enabled (heat buildup 14, heat cooldown 48, linear) — so the overheat-boost loop actually engages during play. Carries the highest ★1 acceleration of any Solaris legendary (320) on a baseline 1.0 ship scale.

All other ★5 fields match ★1 (the per-hull ★5 override only delta-pins the four numerics above). No ★2 / ★3 / ★4 pins exist for Oracle, so intermediate stars lerp linearly between the four endpoints; every other stat is constant across all five stars.

Free-rotating cruiser with a linear thrust ramp and a back-loaded brake — when thrust is released the deceleration starts gentle and weights toward the final stop, so the Oracle glides at cruise speed and then snaps to a halt. The back-loaded drag profile is the Solaris faction signature. Unlike the other Solaris legendaries (Armada and Princess both run heat 0/0), the Oracle has an active heat curve: thrust raises heat at 14/sec, cooldown drains at 48/sec while idle, and the linear curve maps heat to speed-boost gain. Burnout severity 0.35 applies when the bar saturates.

Hitbox

Custom convex polygon (no octagon fallback). Normalized to the sprite content box on a ±0.95 scale; physics applies it at the rendered sprite size.

The polygon is asymmetric along the X axis — the tail end (left side) is a broad, near-vertical face holding the full ±0.95 width down to the wing tips, while the nose end (right side) tapers smoothly through a long curve to a narrow ±0.073 point. Y range stops well short of full extent (±0.579 vs the ±0.95 available), so the hull is wider than it is tall in normalized space. Highest vertex count of any Solaris hull entry.

Oracle has no per-hull ★2 / ★3 / ★4 pin entries, so the lerp runs straight from ★1 to ★5 with no breakpoints. Star tier never changes the starting weapon (always disc L1), faction, rarity, hitbox, drive feel, ship scale, weapon-slot count, armor, speed, drag, turn rate, or heat curve — only the four lerped numerics above and the mod backpack grid size.

EXTRACT-CANDIDATE flags

  • Solaris faction heat-curve split. Solaris legendaries are not homogeneous on the overheat loop. Oracle ships with heat buildup 14 / cooldown 48 / linear curve — actively engaged at runtime — while the other two Solaris legendaries (Armada, Princess) both use heat 0 / 0, effectively disabling the loop. The full Solaris roster splits along this line: Cargo, Cruiser, Flyer, Hauler also run 0/0; Oracle, Princess (despite 14/48 listed), Torque, Valet run 14/48. Re-verify this pattern across the roster — looks like a tuning-pass artifact where heat was added per-hull non-uniformly. Worth a single canonical “Solaris heat-curve map” table on ships.md so the per-entity pages don’t have to re-explain the split.
  • Solaris faction signature stat block. Solaris hulls share a tight set of fixed values: armor 5, drag 0.42, turn rate 0.10, drag curve back_loaded, weaponDamagePct ★5 endpoint 12.5. The ★1→★5 delta pattern is also consistent — only HP / Shield / WeaponDamagePct / Acceleration shift across the faction. Worth a single canonical “Solaris faction profile” block on ships.md so per-entity Solaris pages can stop repeating these constants. (Already flagged on Armada — adding Oracle confirms the pattern across multiple legendaries.)
  • Legendary hull with baseline passive. Solaris_Oracle is the third Solaris legendary inheriting jack_of_all rather than a hull-specific passive (after Armada and Princess). The +3/6/10/15/22% all-stats curve is undocumented on passives.md or ships.md and needs a single canonical block. Repeated across legendaries → looks intentional rather than a bug, but the design intent (legendaries get rarity-driven rank, not unique passives) deserves an explicit note.
  • disc as a starter weapon. Oracle’s starting weapon is disc — appears as a hull starter only on the Oracle in the Solaris roster (siblings open with rifle / cannon / line / revolver / barrier). Worth confirming on weapons.md whether disc starters appear elsewhere; if Oracle is the sole disc starter, that’s a load-bearing balance signal for the “starting weapon by hull” cross-reference table flagged on Armada.
  • High-vertex hitbox. Oracle’s 32-vertex polygon is the densest in the Solaris hitbox table (Armada 26, Cargo 18, Princess 27, Valet 26). The hitbox-aspect-ratio table flagged on Armada should also surface vertex count — high-vertex collision shapes are gameplay-relevant when ramming or grazing terrain, and the wiki currently buries the raw vertex lists with no comparison view.
  • Acceleration outlier. Oracle’s ★1 acceleration of 320 is the highest among Solaris legendaries (Armada 240, Princess 190) and ties with Cruiser among all Solaris hulls. The acceleration spread inside the Solaris legendary tier is wider than the HP/shield spread — worth a per-faction “acceleration by rarity” table on ships.md to surface whether legendaries are tuned for speed or durability inside each faction.
