Speedway

What it is

Speedway is the second leaderboard planet on the roster, sitting in the fifth swiper slot of the planet order. As a leaderboard planet, its hub surface swaps the standard challenge list and per-planet progress bar for a leaderboard and tier rewards. The run itself uses the landing-site biome with a dedicated speed-circuit level preset and the shooter-biased variant of the bug enemy family, themed around open circuits and shooter gauntlets. The boss encounter at the run timer’s zero mark is Spire.

The bugs_shooter enemy-set variant biases the planet’s hazard mix toward ranged shooter archetypes — projectile pressure on open ground that punishes static positioning. Enemy count and grace period sit at baseline values (1.0× multiplier, 1-second ramp), unlike The Voidstar’s doubled count and zero-grace pressure curve. Atmospheric fog overlay is light at 0.10 — among the cleanest skies on the roster — and the planet is dark-mastered, contrasting the sunlit treatment used by Solaris and Eden-5. Debris density sits at 19, the highest debris setting of any planet on the roster.

Mastering track (leaderboard mode)

Speedway is a leaderboard planet — the hub surfaces a leaderboard and tier rewards in place of the standard challenge list and per-planet progress bar. The 10-level reward track defined in source still exists in data for Speedway (built via the same template as every other planet), but per-planet pages should not assume those rewards drive the hub display the same way they do on non-leaderboard planets. The reward names and global buff below are recorded for completeness; the hub UI for Speedway substitutes leaderboard + tier rewards as its primary progression surface.

Speedway uses the baseline XP curve at 1.0× — its multiplier is flagged in source as a placeholder pending balance tuning, in contrast to The Voidstar’s 2.0× tuned multiplier. All XP thresholds below are cumulative totals.

Base run XP for completing any run on Speedway is 10 (placeholder rate). The mastering track is per-planet — XP earned here does not progress other planets’ tracks.
