Sprinter

What it is

An extreme-speed melee enemy that runs the same lane-following behavior as the racer but at much higher speed and much lower HP. Sprinters follow invisible lane waypoints assigned by the spawner, deal contact damage to anything in their path, and despawn after passing the end of their lane.

Sprinters appear as the rare-tier minority of the Delphi planet enemy pool, which already leans racer-heavy. They are fragile but very hard to outrun, punishing players who linger in one spot. Sprinters are immune to stun and knockback, and always run their full AI.

Sprinters are tagged as fast.

Compared to the racer, the sprinter has about 58% of the racer’s HP and about 1.47× the racer’s speed.

Stats (per rarity tier)

Final stats are base × rarity multiplier. Damage values are the contact-damage multiplier applied at the rarity tier — base contact damage is set by the world knob, not the archetype.

Behavior

On spawn, the spawner assigns each sprinter to an invisible lane (a list of waypoints) and places it at the first waypoint. If no lane is assigned, the sprinter falls back to flying in a random straight direction at its full speed.

Each tick the sprinter steers directly toward its current waypoint at full speed. When it gets within 15 units of a waypoint, it advances to the next one. When it passes the last waypoint, it self-destructs (despawns).

Sprinters do not target or pursue the player. They only deal damage if the player crosses their path — contact triggers melee damage on collision.

Spawning follows the same lane-grouping pattern used by the racer.
