Reactor Core
What it is
A corporate fusion plant encounter built around a central, invulnerable Hauler bound to three orbiting Valets. The Hauler is the bar anchor and the only body that fires offensive abilities, but it cannot itself be damaged. The three Valets each own one third of the shared health pool and act as the only damageable surface — destroying all three ends the encounter and triggers a three-second reactor-shutdown cinematic. The boss is registered to the mini-boss pool.

Body composition
The encounter splits the boss into two body types. The Hauler exists purely to keep the bar visible and to fire the wall-sweep ability — it does not share the bar pool and cannot be targeted. The three Valets are the only damageable bodies and split the bar equally; each Valet’s death drains roughly one third of the pool. Valets orbit the Hauler at 0.6 of the arena radius and carry no abilities of their own.
| Body | Count | HP each | Position | Targetable | Shares HP bar | AI | Abilities |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hauler | 1 | 999,999 | Center | No | No | Hold center | Wall sweep |
| Valet | 3 | 2,333 | Ring (orbit) | Yes | Yes (33% each) | Orbit center | None |
Bar pool at base scaling is approximately 7,000 (three Valets at 2,333 each). The Hauler’s nominal 999,999 HP is a safety pad against stray AOE rather than a real damage budget — it is functionally untouchable.
Phases
The encounter has a single phase. There are no respawn_as body swaps, no scripted phase transitions, and no time-based escalation hook. The fight ends as soon as the third Valet dies. The dynamic difficulty change across the encounter comes from visual stutter on the Hauler each time a Valet dies (its core pulse briefly dims and recovers), which signals system stress without altering combat parameters.
Abilities
The Hauler fires a single ability on cooldown. Valets carry no abilities.
Hauler Wall Sweep
A horizontal wall of coolant-cyan plasma sweeps across the arena with a leading danger-red edge. Two safe gaps are punched into the wall.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Pattern | Wall sweep |
| Direction | Horizontal |
| Cooldown (s) | 10.0 |
| Telegraph (ms) | 2000 |
| Wall speed (px/s) | 280 |
| Gap count | 2 |
| Gap width (px) | 90 |
| Bullet damage | 30 |
Spawn profile
The encounter uses the light_pressure spawn profile, meaning ambient adds during the fight are kept thin so the player can focus on Valet damage and wall-sweep dodging.
Rewards
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| XP | 950 |
| Currency | 100 |
| Extra reward picks | 1 |
Reward cascade
When the encounter ends, the boss-defeat reward chamber spawns a custom five-prop ring tuned to the energy/speed identity of the fight. This overrides the standard cascade.

| 2 | Comet fragment |

Scaling
Reactor Core does not declare its own scaling config and therefore uses the default boss scaling curve, applied multiplicatively each game level above 1.
| Dimension | Per-level | Cap type | Cap value | Steepness |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HP | 2.00 | Uncapped | — | — |
| Damage | 2.15 | Uncapped | — | — |
| Turret fire rate | 1.25 | Soft cap | 3.0 | 0.30 |
| Move speed | 1.10 | Soft cap | 2.0 | 0.25 |
| Limb sweep speed | 1.15 | Soft cap | 2.5 | 0.20 |
| Spawner frequency | 1.20 | Soft cap | 3.0 | 0.25 |
| Projectile speed | 1.12 | Hard cap | 2.0 | — |
| Effect radius | 1.10 | Soft cap | 2.5 | 0.20 |
| Enrage timer | 0.88 | Soft cap | 0.25 | 0.30 |
Base enrage timer is 120 seconds at level 1 and shrinks toward a floor of 25% of base across the levels.
When Reactor Core rolls on a boss-tier level rather than a mini level, the encounter runtime doubles both per-body HP and per-body damage on top of the default scaling above.
