Slipstream

What it is

Slipstream is a stat-category artifact that procs on a weapon-fire counter. Every N shots fired, the ship gains a temporary top-speed surge and simultaneously detonates a tight slipstream ring around the ship that damages nearby enemies. Within the weapon-fire-triggered family Slipstream is the mobility specialist — it pairs a speed buff with the smallest ring radius and is the most-frequently-procced of the three weapon-fire artifacts.

The weapon-fire counter increments by one each time the ship fires a shot. When the counter reaches the tier-defined threshold, the artifact procs and the counter resets to zero.

Per-tier values

Tiers indexed 0 to 3 map to uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. A fifth common tier is prepended at runtime via the engine’s flat-bonus layer and shares the uncommon values record.

The counter threshold decreases with tier (faster procs), and the speed bonus, buff duration, and ring damage all scale up with tier. The ring radius and the VFX shape are fixed across tiers.

Effect

On each proc the artifact fires three gameplay actions in the same frame plus a flash on the artifact icon.

The speed buff is applied to the ship as a flat additive percentage to its max-speed stat for the tier’s buff duration. The slipstream ring is a separate per-proc action that deals the tier’s flat ring damage to every enemy within the 140 px radius around the ship at the moment of the proc.

The speed buff cannot accumulate. A second proc while the first is still active resets the remaining duration to the full tier-defined window without adding a second stack. The ring detonation is a separate per-proc action and fires every time the counter reaches the threshold, independent of buff state and without any cooldown beyond the counter itself.
